Lek Azithromycin DT (tabletki do sporządzania zawiesiny doustnej) jest wskazany w leczeniu następujących zakażeń, o których wiadomo lub jest prawdopodobne, że są wywołane przez wrażliwe szczepy drobnoustrojów: zapalenie zatok, zapalenie ucha środkowego, pozaszpitalne zapalenie płuc, zapalenie gardła/migdałek, dur brzuszny.

Common use
Azithromycin DT is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections like bronchitis, pneumonia, STDs, chest
infections, ear, nose, and throat infections such as sinusitis, respiratory infections, ear infections, and skin
infections. It belongs to the macrolide class and is also used in combination therapies for diseases like
Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) in HIV-infected patients.
Dosage and direction
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet. It should be taken either
1
hour before or 2 hours after a meal or as advised by doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine without speaking to
your
doctor first.
Precautions
Liver Disease: If you have liver disease, azithromycin can potentially exacerbate your condition.
Kidney Disease: People with kidney problems should be careful as Azithromycin DT might worsen their condition.
Long QT Syndrome: This medication may cause an irregular heartbeat in people with this heart condition.
Contraindications
Azithromycin DT is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to azithromycin and severe heart disease
and
other infection.
Possible side effect
The side effects of Azithromycin DT are: Diarrhoea; Headache; Vomiting; Stomach pain; Loss of appetite.
Drug interaction
The utilisation of antiemetic medications (domperidone), antipsychotic medications (amitriptyline, pimozide),
antimigraine medications (ergotamine, dihydroergotamine), statin medications (simvastatin), medications for bladder
weakness (tolterodine), and anti-gout/arthritis medications (colchicine) in conjunction with Azithromycin DT is not
advised due to the potential for severe side effects. Before using any prescription or over-the-counter medications,
consultation with a doctor is essential.
Missed dose
If you forget to take a dose of Azithromycin DT, take it as soon as you remember, but avoid repeating it.
Overdose
Overdose of Azithromycin DT can cause loss of hearing, feeling sick or sick, and diarrhoea. Inform your doctor
and follow the advice accordingly.
Storage
Store Azithromycin DT in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Maintain an ideal room temperature
between 15°C and 30°C. Do not expose the medicine to high temperatures or freezing conditions. Always ensure that
your
medicine is kept out of the reach of children. Use the medicine before its expiry date.
