Common use

Azeetop tablet is an antibiotic used to treat various types of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, lungs, skin, and eye in adults and children. It is also effective in typhoid fever and some sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea.

Dosage and direction

Azeetop tablet is taken orally, preferably one hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid breaking, crushing, or chewing the tablet. Antiarrhythmic medications: Azithromycin can increase plasma levels of heart medications like amiodarone and dofetilide, potentially leading to cardiac complications.
Macrolide antibiotics: Azithromycin can interact with similar medicines, such as erythromycin or clarithromycin, potentially leading to enhanced side effects.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose of Azeetop, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your usual schedule. Do not double up on doses without consulting your doctor.

Overdose

Taking more than your prescribed dose of Azeetop may lead to overdose side effects like nausea, stomach upset, or dizziness. If you've taken an extra dose by mistake, inform your doctor promptly.
