Common use
Latisse Ophthalmic Solution are used to manage open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension by reducing
increased
pressure within the eye. It is a combination medicine that belongs to the class of eye care solutions. In addition
to
lowering eye pressure, this medicine helps prevent potential damage to the optic nerve and preserves vision in
patients with these eye conditions. By improving the drainage of fluid from the eye, it effectively manages the
inner
eye pressure that could otherwise lead to vision problems if left untreated.
Dosage and direction
Follow these instructions while using Latisse Ophthalmic Solution: Wash your hands thoroughly before using the
eye drops. Remove contact lenses before applying the drops. Tilt your head back and pull down your lower eyelid
gently. Hold the dropper close to your eye without touching any part of your eye. Squeeze one drop into the pocket
formed by your lower eyelid. Close your eyes and press your finger against the inner corner for 1-2 minutes. Replace
the cap immediately after use.
Precautions
Caution is advised while using Latisse Ophthalmic Solution if you are pregnant or if you are breastfeeding. It
is
best to consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Intraocular inflammation: Using these drops during active eye inflammation may worsen the condition or reduce
effectiveness.
Eye infections: Application during untreated eye infections could potentially interfere with healing or worsen
infection symptoms.
Contraindications
Latisse Ophthalmic Solution is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to bimatoprost or any
inactive ingredient in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with active intraocular inflammation
or
risk factors for macular edema.
Possible side effect
Latisse Ophthalmic Solution may have the following side effects: Eye redness; Itching sensation in the eye;
Burning feeling in the eye; Darkening of eyelid skin (The skin around your eyelids may become slightly darker in
color
with continued use); Increased iris pigmentation (The colored part of your eye (iris) may gradually become darker or
change slightly, particularly in people with light-colored eyes).
Drug interaction
Other glaucoma medicines: When used with other eye drops like timolol or latanoprost, wait at least 5 minutes
between applications to prevent washing out the previous medicine.
Ophthalmic medications: Simultaneous use with eye medicines like prednisolone or ciprofloxacin may reduce
effectiveness if not properly spaced apart during application.
Missed dose
If you forget to instill Latisse Ophthalmic Solution, use them as soon as you remember. If it's nearly time for
your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Never instill extra drops to make up
for
a skipped dose.
Overdose
In case you happen to put a few extra drops of this medicine in your eye, do not panic. Rinse your eyes with
clean water at room temperature. If any symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor.
Storage
Store Latisse Ophthalmic Solution at room temperature (15-30°C) in the original container. Keep the bottle
tightly closed when not in use. Protect from direct light and moisture. Store away from children's reach. Do not use
after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
